Our client’s driver licence was suspended due to unpaid fines. The suspension took effect on the 18th of November 2025 and remained in effect for 6 months.
In February 2026, our client was intercepted by police along Clarendon Street, South Melbourne. Checks on the registration of the vehicle indicated that the registration was suspended.
Our client produced a driver’s licence upon being intercepted and checks with VicRoads revealed her licence was suspended in 2025 due to unpaid fines.
Our client was entirely unaware her licence was suspended as the latest communication she had received from VicRoads was in relation to an extension of her demerit point period.
She was unaware of the status of her motor vehicle registration until being intercepted by police, upon which she checked her junk emails and found communication in relation to this.
Our client received an adjourned undertaking and was required to donate $100 to the Court fund. Importantly, no conviction was recorded and there was no impact on her driver’s licence.
Our client was extremely pleased with the outcome.
