Dangerous driving is a criminal offence defined by driving at a speed or in a manner that poses a danger to the public. Under section 64(1) of the Road Safety Act 1986, the maximum penalty is 240 penalty units or up to 2 years in prison. If found guilty, the magistrate must cancel your licence for a minimum of 6 months.
