Amalia Vicze
Principal Solicitor

As the founder and principal solicitor of William Archer Defence Lawyers, Amalia Vicze has dedicated her career to providing expert legal representation in criminal law, with a strong focus on traffic offences and criminal defence. With years of experience, Amalia’s passion lies in defending her clients’ rights and achieving the best possible outcomes for them.

Amalia’s approach is straightforward and client-focused— she prides herself on clear communication, transparency, and a personalised legal strategy tailored to each case. Whether facing driving while disqualifieddangerous driving charges, or other serious offences, Amalia’s practice is committed to offering professional, practical solutions to even the most challenging legal situations.

Having come to Australia with broken English and as a political refugee in 1981, Amalia has excelled in her studies and commenced her Arts/Law degree in 1983 at the University of Melbourne. After finishing her combined degree, she worked in a variety of legal and quasi legal careers. She started this firm in 2006 and has an understanding and empathy for people she meets from diverse backgrounds.

Michael Sunderland
Solicitor

Michael is a dedicated lawyer who handles a wide range of criminal and traffic law matters, he is known for achieving strong results through careful preparation and practical advocacy. Michael is calm and effective in court and is popular with our clients.

He has represented clients in many Victorian Magistrates’ Courts cases such as driving while suspended, drink driving, drug driving and other driving related charges.

Our clients appreciate Michael’s friendly and approachable manner, clear communication, and unwavering commitment to securing the best possible outcomes. His blend of legal expertise, genuine care and empathy ensures that every client feels supported and well-informed at each stage of their matter.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys socialising with friends, watching movies and TV shows.

Finlay Park
Senior Para-Legal

Finlay is an integral member of the firm who supports the lawyers across a range of matters. He assists with legal research, preparing documents and correspondence, organising files, and general matter management to help ensure work progresses efficiently. Finlay approaches his work with a practical mindset and positive attitude, and enjoys the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and apply his skills.

Finlay is currently in his fourth year studying a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University, where he is developing a strong foundation across both legal and broader academic disciplines.

Outside the office, Finlay enjoys playing golf, watching TV shows ( such as Friends and Peaky Blinders ) and catching up with mates.

Tommy
Tommy Horton
Para-Legal

Tommy is a valued member of our team who contributes across a variety of areas within the firm, supporting the lawyers and helping keep matters progressing effectively. He brings a practical mindset and a positive attitude to his work, and values being part of the team while utilising  his professional experience.

Tommy is currently in his fourth year studying for his  Bachelor of Laws and Commerce degrees, where he is developing a strong foundation across both legal and commercial subjects.

In his free time, Tommy enjoys playing footy, watching movies ( such as Now You See Me) and catching up with friends.

Scarlett is an important part of our team, assisting with a wide range of internal tasks and helping ensure matters run smoothly behind the scenes. Her attention to detail and proactive approach support the team in delivering efficient and well-organized outcomes for our clients. She is currently in her fourth year studying a Bachelor of Laws at RMIT University, where she enjoys seeing the practical side of the law come to life. Outside of the office, Scarlett enjoys staying active through Pilates and walking, and also loves reading a good book in her spare time.

Our Paralegal Assistant Tatum is crucial to ensuring that the running of our many internal jobs gets done well. She ensures that everything in the background works to perfection.

She is now in her 4th year at the Monash University studying for her Commerce/Law degrees and loves seeing the law in action.

She enjoys a good tennis game and enjoys coaching tennis too in her spare time.
